Patrick Mahomes ‘consoles’ LeBron James at Carbone Beach all-star party after Lakers disappointment
When the Formula 1 circus arrives in Miami, the Hollywood celebrities and American sports stars always make a concerted effort to party hard. This year was no different for Patrick Mahomes, who enjoyed his time off from the Kansas City Chiefs when attending an all-star party at Carbone Beach, with the likes of LeBron James in attendance.
NFL and NBA players maintain a more amicable relationship these days, and that appeared to be the case with Mahomes, who could be seen chatting with James and over heavy hitters at the Miami soiree on Saturday night.
According to Page Six, a source spotted the 28-year-old in a “very playful’ mood as he engaged in conversation with some of NBA’s biggest names.
“Mahomes caught up with LeBron, Kevin Durant and a few others and he was very playful,” the source told Page Six on Sunday, adding, “He was truly having a great time and people naturally gravitated towards him.”
The quarterback was joined by his wife, Brittany, as they laughed and joked with four-time NBA champion James. With him were some of his NBA colleagues such as Durant, Kevin Love and Draymond Green, with singer Pitbull entertaining the guests throughout the night.
“A bunch of people could be heard whispering how two of the GOATs of our generation were both in the room,” the source said of the Lakers and Chiefs duo.
LeBron James finds solace after Lakers agony
Many might have expected LeBron, 39, to be down in the dumps after his most recent setback with the Los Angeles Lakers.
James was officially off the clock after the Lakers ended their season on a disappointing note, having crashed out of the NBA Playoffs following a 4-1 series defeat to the Denver Nuggets.
Their fate was sealed with a narrow 108-106 defeat on April 30, despite James’ best efforts with a 30-point return included nine rebounds and 11 assists.
But he appeared to have been in a better mood than expected after being consoled by Mahomes, having been blamed by some pundits for the firing of his coach Darvin Ham.
