Harrison Butker, the star kicker for the Chiefs, was put in a body bag by Jamie Erdahl of Good Morning Football for making offensive remarks about women
Jamie Erdahl and Harrison Butker plays the kicker position for the consistently competitive Kansas City Chiefs. Some NFL fans may consider the team a dynasty, and no NFL player should take that for granted, but some, unfortunately, do.
Recently, the Chiefs kicker has been one of those players who has obtained a big ego after being on a three-time Super Bowl-winning squad, and he is now being called out for a comment he recently made by NFL Network’s Jamie Erdahl.
For some reference, for those who don’t know, Butker was making a commencement speech at a private university in Kansas called Benedictine College, where he stated that they’d been told a “diabolical lie” and shouldn’t chase their careers and passions.
Butker went on to state that women should focus on the “most important title of all: homemaker,” which some fans considered basically telling all women to stay in the kitchen. Erdahl was not happy about it, and rightfully so.
Jamie Erdahl Rips Harrison Butker For Comments About Women
Erdahl posted to X after she heard the news, clearly upset with Butker’s comments stating that “the Chiefs kicker is lucky gmfb is on hiatus.” She followed the statement by adding, “I would be asking for a few minutes to let off some steam.,” making it clear she was not happy.
The year is 2024, not 1954, and fans are continuing to call Butker out for his distasteful comment. One fan replied to another tweet with a clip of the speech, stating, ” Can’t be talking this way if you’re a kicker.”
This references the ironic fact that the kicker is one of the least physically taxing positions in the sport, and Butker states that he shouldn’t settle for what is easy. This is not to say that being a kicker is easy, but most would consider it one of the easier positions in the sport. No matter what the case is, let’s hope Butker can realize his mistakes and make some much-needed changes.
