After being treated like a villain in Dallas, Travis Kelce snatches Luka Doncic, the player whom Patrick Mahomes loves the most
Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are in the middle of a Texas-sized turf war. Mahomes and his beloved Dallas Mavericks both painted Kelce as a villain, and Kelce struck back by winning over the Mavericks’ hero, Luka Doncic, with a special moment together in the tunnel.
Ironically, the message relayed from Travis to Luka was motivation for the NBA MVP candidate to be more like Mahomes. “Go get you one!” Kelce screamed at Doncic after dapping him up, implying that he wants to see the Slovenian reach the level of the Chiefs by bringing home a championship.
Mahomes made Kelce the villain
With the inspiring moment, Kelce solidified that he is more than an outsider in Dallas, as Mahomes was quick to say when the New Heights host attended a Dallas Stars NHL Playoffs game in the same arena.
The Kansas City icons got much different receptions in Dallas on Sunday night during the Mavs 116-107 Game 3 win, which gave them a 3-0 advantage over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals. Kelce was booed by the Dallas fans and teased on the Jumbotron, while Texas natives Patrick and Brittany Mahomes received a loud ovation.
That must have made it all the more sweet when Kelce was the first to greet Doncic after his 33-point performance, edging out Mahomes for a moment with his favorite player.
