Assault allegation deepens concerns around Chiefs’ Rashee Rice, new investigation details emerge
New insights have surfaced regarding the assault investigation involving Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver Rashee Rice, shedding light on the events that transpired in a Dallas nightclub early Monday morning.
What happened between Rashee Rice and the photographer?
According to an offense report obtained by The Dallas Morning News, a photographer alleges that Rice summoned him back to a party before striking him in the face.
The incident, which occurred at the Lit Kitchen nightclub located at 609 N. Harwood Street in Dallas, reportedly unfolded around 3:30 a.m. Monday.
The photographer claims he had left the venue but received a message from Rice on Instagram, urging him to return for a potential photography opportunity.
Upon arrival, Rice purportedly directed the victim’s attention to his phone before delivering a punch to the left side of his face, resulting in minor injuries including jaw swelling.
Details from the police report, though heavily redacted, align with accounts provided by media outlets.
While the report does not disclose the names of those involved, factors such as age, height, and weight suggest Rice as the primary suspect.
The case is presently categorized as a misdemeanor assault.
Rashee Rice’s legal troubles are piling up
This incident marks the latest in a series of off-field controversies surrounding Rice.
In March, he was involved in a high-speed car crash in Dallas, leading to multiple charges including aggravated assault and collision involving bodily injury.
Despite these legal challenges, Rice continued his tenure with the Chiefs, participating in the team’s offseason training program under the watchful eye of Coach Andy Reid.
With Rice’s legal fate pending, both the NFL and the Chiefs remain vigilant, monitoring developments closely.
Rice, a second-round draft pick in 2023, had a promising rookie season, amassing 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns.
