BREAKING: Taylor repeats outfits in Vancouver so everyone can win Mastermind. The Eras Tour…
Fans took note that Taylor Swift is an outfit repeater – wearing the same dresses and outfits in Vancouver on Saturday night as Friday night – but there’s a reason.
And before you scoff about an article highlighting the superstar’s wardrobe, keep in mind that her followers meticulously track and study the finest minutiae hoping to crack the code on a future album or announcement. Swifties even have a global game – called “Mastermind,” where fans keep track of and guess her outfits to win prizes.
So when she dons the same sequence of sequins two nights in a row, fans notice. The singer-songwriter has only does this once before: in Inglewood, Calif. where she shot her first Eras Tour movie on Aug. 3-5.
By wearing the same outfits, it’s easier for the continuity of editing a film or a documentary. That may explain why dancer Kameron Saunders, also said the same line “like ever” during “We Are Never Getting Back Together” when for the previous 93 shows, he said a unique phrase to every concert.
Lights, camera and smile
Fans walking into the Vancouver stadium spotted a lot of cameras on Friday including two flyover cameras, a massive jib, a dolly track for a rolling camera along the catwalk and microphones pointed towards the audience sections.
“This is crazy,” Christian Cubacub, a fan who has been to many domestic and global shows of the Eras Tour, said.
Cubacub has reported the production overhaul in Canada on TikTok, scrupulously detailing where cameras were positioned in BC Place Stadium. “This is so much investment that I feel like they are filming the whole concert… There is a huge budget for this equipment.”
Vancouver is the last leg of the tour which has taken Swift to 21 countries to perform 149 shows.
Cubacub attended all three concerts in the California arena when Swift’s Eras Tour movie was filmed. If you pause the Eras Tour movie at the right time during the “22” hat pass off to Kobe Bryant’s daughter, Bianka, you can spot him in the corner. The LA-based photographer and videographer said a two-person camera crew was present on-stage following the singer during the Inglewood shows and during Friday night in Vancouver.
