“Chiefs Moved Mountains In Order To Make Patrick Mahomes Happy”
The theme of the offseason for the Kansas City Chiefs was fortifying the wide receiver position in order to get the offense back to pre-2023 levels. And also to keep Patrick Mahomes happy.
The additions of Marquise Brown through free agency and Xavier Worthy through the NFL Draft were supposed to complement their burgeoning young star receiver, Rashee Rice. But legal troubles have put Rice’s 2024 season in doubt, and the Chiefs continue to prepare for a possible absence.
Kansas City Chiefs re-sign Mecole Hardman for one more year
On Thursday, Kansas City re-signed Mecole Hardman to provide more depth at the position.
Hardman is most known for his game-winning touchdown catch in overtime of the most recent Super Bowl. The most ironic part of it all is that he wasn’t even supposed to be on the team.
Hardman had signed with the New York Jets last offseason after four seasons with the Chiefs, but he was traded back to his old team after he couldn’t find any playing time. He popped back up at the perfect time for the Chiefs, and now he may be relied upon to fill in during Rice’s suspension.
