Exclusive: This Is What Taylor Swift Said To Her Back Up Dancers In Concert
Lip readers believe they’ve discovered what Taylor Swift was whispering to a backup dancer during one of her recent shows in Edinburgh.
The pop star performed in the Scottish capital on June 7, 8 and 9 as part of the European leg of her record-breaking Eras tour. Clocking in at a whopping three-and-a-half hours long, each of the show’s 10 acts is inspired by one of the Grammy winner’s studio albums.
A clip of the singer during her Midnights set went viral on Monday, after being shared by the fan account @tswifterastour.

In the snippet posted to X, the 34-year-old can be seen in a dazzling lavender dress and matching faux-fur coat during a performance of her 2022 track “Lavender Haze.”
While wrapping up the track, Swift’s backup dancers help to remove the jacket, ready for the next song. However, this time, while one dancer helps the singer out of her coat, she quietly mouths something to the other.
Fans believe they’ve decoded the message, with @tswifterastour suggesting Swift is saying: “Oh I wanna keep it.”
Fellow Swifties agreed with the poster’s assessment, considering Scotland is known for its chilly temperatures, even in the summer time.
According to Accu Weather, it was about 45 degrees Fahrenheit on the evening of June 7 in Edinburgh, and 46 degrees on Saturday and Sunday night, explaining why Swift may have wanted to keep her coat on.
“Poor Taylor she must be freezing,” commented X user Luca on the video.
“Scottish cold breeze hits different, would’ve kept it on,” agreed @RaX369.
“Can confirm it was FREEZING,” said Grunge Bean.
“Gurl U dont have to take it off, u can do whatever u want,” wrote Ghali.
“I’d rather have her warm in a hoodie and sweatpants even if it meant no costumes,” said Ella.
“I hope she’s warm [right now] and curled up in bed with a book and some tea,” commented @cusEMmiserable.
Swift was supported by the rock band Paramore during her stint in Scotland, with the gig drawing 222,000 fans. The three sold-out shows set a new record for the highest attendance at a stadium show in Scotland.
“Thank you for breaking the all-time attendance record for a stadium show in Scotland three times in a row…” Swift said in a message to fans on Instagram. “Love you, all 220,000 of you!”
As of Thursday, Swift is in Liverpool, England, for another three nights of Eras tour shows. She will be performing at the city’s Anfield stadium, home of the premier league soccer team Liverpool F.C. The pop star will be heading to Cardiff, Wales, next, before hopping back to England for three shows in London.
