Gisele Bundchen takes brunt of Tom Brady roast and fans suffer: Will she break off all relations with her ex-husband?
Tom Brady’s comedy roast might go down as one of the best in Netflix history, but it came at a price after his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen bore the brunt of the cruel jokes. Being a celebrity in the age of social media requires a thick skin, but listening to jokes about your divorce might have got a little too much for the former model to bear.
While the likes of Bill Belichick kept things strictly related to his football career, comedian Kevin Hart made no such promises with a range of thinly-veiled swipes at Brady and the Brazilian.
The majority of Hart’s prepared jokes narrowed in on Brady’s divorce from Bundchen, which was finalized in 2023, and some went below the belt during the show, which aired on Sunday.
“When you got a chance to go 8-9 and all it will cost you is your wife and your kids, you gotta do what the f*** you gotta do,” Hart said. “You gotta do it.”
It was more awkward by the fact Bundchen was in attendance as she attempts to stay civil with Brady after their 13-year marriage. But that only gave Hart more ammunition.
Referencing Bundchen in the crowd, he added: “But just for full transparency, she came as [Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver] Antonio Brown’s plus one.”
He then joked Brady “f***ed over his coach” Belichick, before comparing it to Gisele’s relationship with jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, saying: “Sometimes you gotta f*** your coach. You know who else f***ed their coach? Gisele, she f***ed that karate man.”
Fans stick up for Bundchen
It was difficult not to feel sorry for the 43-year-old, who unlike Brady didn’t get a chance to defend herself on the stage as he hit back with his own list of jokes.
Some spotted how Brady reacted awkwardly every time he heard Gisele’s name, leading to questions whether she should cut ties altogether. One fan wrote: “Nothing off limits in this Tom Brady roast. I’m already losing count how many times they mention Gisele . Some of Tom’s reactions…”
Another criticized him for appearing to instruct the host not to tell jokes about Patriots owner Robert Kraft – but allowed him to mock his ex-wife: “He lets them crush Gisele but he tells Ross sincerely to lay off Kraft?” one fan added.
Another said: “Imagine if Gisele comes out and roasts Tom. That would be the icing on the cake.”
