Kim Kardashian said that Taylor Swift isn’t ready to apologize for her mistakes and doesn’t understand the true meaning of saying sorry when you’re wrong, which is why their issues remain unresolved.”
Taylor Swift seemed to revive her long-running feud with Kim Kardashian in a track from her new Tortured Poets Department album titled “thanK you aIMee,” and everyone invested in the drama (read: the entire internet), has been waiting to see if Kim K had a clapback for the pop star. But based on Kardashian’s first public appearance since Tortured Poets dropped, the official Kardashian Kamp position seems to be: Unbothered. Which, honestly, is a little anticlimactic.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live on April 22, Kardashian did not take the opportunity to address the apparent diss track. Instead, she told the late-night host, “Life is good.” In fairness, Kimmel didn’t ask Kardashian about the feud directly, so maybe she just didn’t have a chance to address the beef.
Once you note that the capitalization in “thanK you aIMee” spells K-I-M, it’s hard to ignore the pointed meaning in the lyrics, which describe a “a bronze, spray-tanned statue of you.” Swift sings in the chorus, “All that time you were throwin’ punches, I was buildin’ somethin’/ And I can’t forgive the way you made me feel / Screamed,
“Fuck you, Aimee” to the night sky as the blood was gushin’.” In the second verse she sings, “And it wasn’t a fair fight / Or a clean kill each time that Aimee stompеd across my grave / And then she wrotе headlines / In the local paper, laughing at each baby step I’d take.
