Taylor Swift’s Heartwarming Gesture to Young Fan Caught on Camera
Taylor Swift has become a fixture at Kansas City Chiefs games, and now one heartwarming gesture she gave a fan on Sunday has gone viral.
Swift has attended several NFL matches this season amid her romance with Travis Kelce, the Chiefs’ tight end. January 21 was no different as she was in the VIP suite when she watched his team win 27-24 against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium.
Travis Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, was also in attendance and was seen ripping his shirt off and chugging beers after a touchdown. It wasn’t all celebratory commotion, however, as he was also seen jumping out of the suite to help a young Swift fan show her handmade sign to the singer, which read: “Buffalo Bills + Taylor Swift—Best First Game Ever.”
In a clip that’s been shared on X, formerly Twitter, Jason Kelce can be seen holding the girl, Ella Piazza, near the suite so she could see the pop superstar. The eight-year-old used the moment to wave at Swift, who eagerly waved back.

“omg this angle of taylor waving to the little girl,” X user @sooitgoess captioned the video, which was originally uploaded to TikTok by the account @hussitup. At the time of writing, it had been viewed 2.3 million times.
Newsweek contacted Swift’s publicist and Jason Kelce via his New Heights podcast for comment via email Wednesday.
On January 23 Piazza was a guest on TODAY with her mother, Jessica Piazza, to talk to Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb about the special moment.
“I was thinking positive, but some of my friends weren’t that positive,” Ella Piazza explained of her hopes to meet Swift at the game. “Then [Jason Kelce] came over here and then he picked me up and then I saw Taylor. It was, like, amazing.”
Ella Piazza’s mom described the moment from her perspective: “It was amazing. She came down, and it was like the happiest I’ve ever seen her. She was crying, just of happiness. It was so cool.”
She explained that she knew her daughter was in good hands because Jason Kelce is the father of three daughters.
“He was so kind to her,” she said. “I was just so thankful that he gave her the chance to see Taylor because she was—she was standing up there at the top of the bleachers with her sign just waiting and hoping and so brave—she climbed all the way to the top.”
Jessica Piazza told the hosts that on the day, they ended up sitting in a section where Swift and the Kelces were. During halftime when people had temporarily left their seats, they tried to get closer to the suite. She added: “When people saw her sign, everyone started helping her. It was really cute.”
They finally got Jason Kelce’s attention after people in the crowd started yelling for him to help Ella Piazza. Her mom continued: “It all happened so fast! And anyone who is a football fan knows that Jason Kelce is a girl dad, so I knew she was in good hands!”
Jessica Piazza also discussed the unforgettable moment when her daughter finally saw Swift. “She waved back and smiled. And Ella was in absolute heaven,” she said. “She still probably doesn’t realize what a big star Jason Kelce also is. She just couldn’t believe she saw Taylor! The rest of the game she was on cloud nine.”
Sunday’s game has been a big talking point for the internet, as a variety of different events from the day went viral online. One such moment is when Travis Kelce sent people into overdrive after he was seen making a love-heart gesture with his hands.
Travis Kelce scored his first touchdown in eight games, which saw him blowing a kiss before making the shape of a love heart with his hands in celebration. The symbol is one that Swift has been known to do for years; in a 2011 interview with The New York Times, she said: “The heart-hand symbol means something between ‘I love you’ and ‘thank you.’ It’s just a sweet, simple message that you can deliver without saying a word.”
